To the East, the North Shore
Tadoussac is situated 480 km east of Montreal and 215 km east of Québec City. For visitors coming from these cities, Tadoussac represents the entranceway to the North Shore that stretches towards the north as far as Fermont, via route 389, and towards the east as far as Natashquan via route 138.

Further East, the Lower North Shore
Route 138 continues beyond Natashquan as far east as Kegaska. This is the Lower North Shore. The coastal villages of the Lower North Shore can be visited in summer by boat from aboard the supply ship NM Bella-Desgagnés that sails as far as Blanc-Sablon. These villages are accessible only by snowmobile in winter by following the Route Blanche (White Route), conditions permitting.

As Far as the Atlantic Ocean, Labrador
The village of Blanc Sablon, the Atlantic Coast and the province of Newfoundland and Labrador can be reached by travelling routes 500 and 510. Portions of these roads are paved, others are gravel.

Towards the South and the Lower St. Lawrence
Two ferries link the North Shore to the South Shore of the St. Lawrence and the Lower St. Lawrence region: Les Escoumins—Trois-Pistoles and Forestville—Rimouski.

The Tadoussac—Baie-Sainte-Catherine Ferry , which is free of charge and runs every day year round, takes you to route 138 and the Charlevoix region.
